An active citizen campaign was organized at Doddakanahalli in association with Thayimane. This campaign provided an opportunity to students, teachers, parents and other community stakeholders to demonstrate active citizen participation in the neighboring schools. This campaign was aimed at fixing the civic issues: cleaning litter, spreading public awareness, planting trees etc. Around 60 KPITes actively participated in this event. This campaign demonstrated the positives of working together towards a common goal to create a positive change in the community.
Nirmal Shaala aims at facilitating the construction, operation & maintenance of toilets in all government schools in Bangalore. As a part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, volunteers were required who could conduct a survey on the toilet conditions in schools. Around 50 of volunteers participated in this initiative.
Paper Mache Workshop (Mahape)
In an initiative to encourage reuse and recycling of waste products, CSR Mahape conducted “Paper Mache Workshop” for the 3rd time for employees. Beautiful artworks and sculptures created out of waste news paper and plastic bottles. 15 employees participated in the batch. This workshop was a great success and according to the feedback received, this workshop was considered as a stress buster and brought out creativity in them.
Every year, on account of the auspicious Hindu festival -Diwali, our partner NGOs are invited to the NGO Fair organized at KPIT premises in Pune, Bangalore and Noida. In the year 2014 at Pune, eight NGOs were part of the fair last year, whereas two NGOs participated in Bangalore and three at Noida. With this we reached out to nearly 900 beneficiaries from all the 3 locations.
In 2015, five NGOs were a part of the fair. With this we reached out to nearly 500 beneficiaries.
Sign Language Workshop
KPIT Bengaluru engaged in a two day Sign Language Workshop, involved in learning the signs of communication for the speech and hearing impaired. The workshop sensitized participating volunteers about the disability, the speech-impaired individuals and how important it is to create an equal opportunity society for all. 37 of KPIT’s volunteers participated in the two-day workshop, as a part of EnAble Community’s commitment to disability sector, in association with Youth for Seva.
Mill Race Clean Up and Marathon
In September 2016, a team of 8 volunteers from KPIT’s Columbus office, helped clean the Mill Race Park walking trail for the visitors and people in the community, in association with United Way. Around 20 volunteers from KPIT, later helped in the Marathon event by distributing runner packets before the run and volunteering on the running track during the race day.
